INTRODUCTION
The alarm is a system which offers volumetric and perimeter protection: in effeef it incapable of carrying
out a check on ttje position of the doors and for the presence of a moving oMect'inside the passenger
compartment. In addition, insan carry out the function of excluding the audible alarm (siren) and that of
signalling that the remote con\pl battery is discharged by the LED in the reyfriote control and the one in
the dashboard comirvg on.
In particular it is capable of:
- adapting its operationHp the laws\n force in the various markets g.6yernij?fg the use of alarm systems;
- distinguishing permanent or intermittent errors or faults;
- memorizing the number o^alarms implemented;
- detecting faults or problems\at the connecting cables for the s,vy|fch and key for de-activating the sys-
tem.
The alarm system basically comprises: a radio\frequency receiver located in the courtesy light, a radio
frequency transmitter in the ignition keys whioh come wjt'h/the X/ehicle, two volumetric sensors and
switches on the doors and the bonnetand boot lids and lastly the^electronic control unit (located in the
driver's side wheel arch) which is integrated withNan alaW sirem.

The alarm is excluded by pressing the ren\ote controlN^jitt/on for a long time when the alarm switches on
(see page 134/2).
EMERGENCY KEY
The switch and key for the emergency circuit ihd Ideated ritear the junction unit.
This makes it possible to exclude the alarm if it/is/acthi/ated cm account of a fault in the system.
De-activation By turning the emergency key tpe control unit\mits an audible signal to indicate that
the alarm is de-activated (O/FrVposmon).
Activation By turning the emergency key ^ne/conarol uNjt remains\ilent indicating that the alarm is ac-
tivated (ON position).
