Basic Measurements
13.2.2 M Distance Measurement
The manner of distance measurement in the M mode is the same as that in the 2D mode. The image of
the M mode presents structural changes over time. Therefore, time or velocity between two points can
be obtained if a distance measurement is performed between two points in the M mode.
To measure distance in the M mode:
1. Select the [M Distance] item.
2. Use the trackball to move the cursor to the start of the measurement and press the right or left
trackball key [Set] to fix the marker. A second cursor appears.
3. Use the trackball to move the second cursor to the second point of the measurement and press the
right trackball key again to fix the marker.
To re-adjust the start point, press the upper trackball key [Change] before completing the
measurement. It alternates the control from one cursor to the other.
Remarks:
The results of the measurement such as distance, time and velocity between two points appear on
the monitor.
A new cursor will appear. If necessary continue to calculate another distance in the same manner.
13.3 Area Measurements
There are two methods to measure Circumference and Area.
Measurement using Ellipse (chapter 13.3.1)
Measurements using Trace
(chapter 13.3.2)
