14.3.4 The OB Calculations Method
The methods of obtaining measurements in the OB Calculations are the same as those of distance and
circumference measurements. Most of the items in OB calculations are the measurement using
distance. The items that calculate the circumference include HC, AC and FTA.
In the case of AFI, distances are measured in several images.
If a Gestations number has been entered several Gestations can be measured on one patient.
Switch the [Fetus] key on the control panel to change from the 1
st
gestation to the 2
nd
or
3
rd
or..... gestation. The actual Gestation is displayed in the status area on the screen:
[Fetus 1] or [Fetus 2] or....
• To calculate the Distance
(chapter 14.3.4.1) ( e.g. BPD )
• To calculate the Circumference
(chapter 14.3.4.2) ( e.g. HC )
• To calculate AFI (chapter 14.3.4.3)
•
To perform Fetal Doppler Measurements (chapter 14.3.4.4) ( e.g. Umbilical Artery)
14.3.4.1 To calculate the Distance
To calculate BPD, Biparietal diameter:
1. Press the [Calc] key.
The OB calculation menu appears in the menu area.
2. Select the group for the corresponding item belongs to.
For example, select [Fetal Biometry] to measure BPD.
3. Select the desired item.
4. Perform the measurement using the trackball and the right or left
trackball key.
Each item can be calculated up to four times.
