20.8 Probe Usage
For details on connecting, activating, deactivating, disconnecting, transporting and storing the probes,
refer to: Transducer Connection
(chapter 4.4) and Probe/Program Selection (chapter 4.5).
20.9 Care and Maintenance
20.9.1 Inspecting Probes
After each use, inspect the probe's lens, cable, and casing. Look for any damage that would allow
liquid to enter the probe. If any damage is found, do not use the probe until it has been inspected and
repaired/replaced by a GE Medical Systems - Kretztechnik Service Representative.
NOTE:
Keep a log of all probe maintenance, along with a picture of any probe malfunction.
20.9.2 Environmental Requirements
Probes should be operated, stored, or transported within the parameters outlined below.
Ensure that the probe face temperature does not exceed the normal
operation temperature range.
