Overview and Operations
Overview
To effectively control machine operations, a proper gain adjustment must be enabled by SV series.
This is done through auto tuning, Gain search PRO or Gain tuning PRO.
The following tuning functions are available:
The availability of operation mode and tuning function
All tuning functions can be used by the position control mode.
Speed control mode may use all tuning functions other than Gain search PRO (w/ higher-level command) and Gain
tuning PRO (response characteristic level adjustment).
Only the Gain tuning PRO (stability level adjustment) is available to torque control mode .
Function Description
Auto tuning
This allows servo amplifier to automatically adjust response characteristic to ensure stable response.
A notch filter can be automatically adjusted to minimize mechanical resonance.
This is done simply by adjusting the response
characteristic
.
Gain search PRO
The servo amplifier automatically executes gain control by measuring mechanical characteristics.
Two methods are available: the "W/o higher-level command" whereby the servo motor gain is
automatically adjusted within a setting range (CW and CCW); and the "W/ higher-level
command" whereby commands from higher-level positioning/motion unit are used for an
automatic gain adjustment.
This delivers a finer control than auto tuning.
Gain tuning PRO
This allows, on one hand, manual adjustment of response and stability level, and on the other
hand, receiving commands from higher-level positioning/motion unit to control the servo motor,
until an optimal gain is achieved.
This method takes a longer time due to manual adjustment and adjustment effect check. But
this method delivers a much finer adjustment.
Anti-resonance control This helps to suppress 100 to 1000Hz continuous vibration generated when gain is increased.
Vibration suppression
This helps to suppress 1 to 100Hz intermittent vibration generated by for example pedestal
vibration.
