10-2 Mounting Lithium Battery
This section describes how to mount lithium battery with battery case (SV-B1).
Installation
Mount the lithium battery with battery case (SV-B1) to servo amplifier before you use the absolute position system.
Generally, only mounting the lithium battery suffices to use the absolute position system. When the current position
needs to be kept after servo amplifier is separated from servo motor (after the encoder cable is disconnected) ,
however, the branch cable (OP-84398) should be used to connect the battery with battery case.
· The lithium battery with battery case (SV-B1) must be mounted/removed after the power is turned off for
5 minutes and the CHARGE LED goes out. Otherwise, electrical shock hazards may result.
· When SV-200 □2, SV-300□2 or SV-500□ 2 uses a lithium battery with a battery case, please use the
SV-B1 extension cable (OP-87074) to mount it to the servo amplifier.
· The mounting position of the lithium battery with a battery case (SV-B1) of the SV-500□2 is different.
Install the lithium battery with battery case (SV-B1) by aligning the screw mounting hole on the front-
bottom of SV-500□2.
■ When the branch cable (OP-84398) for connecting battery is not used
The lithium battery with battery case (SV-B1) is installed at the bottom of the servo amplifier, with its cable being
connected to the connector on the servo amplifier.
• When the branch cable (OP-84398) for connecting battery is not used, if servo amplifier and servo motor
are separated, the current position may disappear.
• If the branch cable (OP-84398) for connecting battery is not used, do not tear off the seal on the pack.
Mounting
1. Insert the stud of lithium battery with battery case (SV-
B1) into the groove at the bottom of servo amplifier,
then fasten the screw.
2. Insert the connector of lithium battery with battery case
(SV-B1) into the battery connector on servo amplifier.
