Key Points
In case estimation of ratio of inertia moment cannot be done, be sure to check the following.
• This should be done when the machine is not vibrating. Otherwise, a failure may occur.
•
When servo motor rated speed
x2/3 is used as the max speed and rated torque as the max acceleration torque for
estimation of ratio of inertia moment, the original ratio of inertia moment settings or gain-related parameters may change.
Be sure to check such settings and correct if necessary.
• A torque limit is applied on the torque command value in estimation of ratio of inertia moment. So be sure to check
such limit is suitable.
•
When moment of inertia ratio is above 10000% (100 times) or load moment of inertia changes, a failture may occur to
the calculation.
■ Error messages
In case an error message is displayed in the calculation, be sure to take corrective measures as listed in the following
table.

cannot be calculated. Please set ratio of load inertia
moment for servo parameter directly.
Vibration error failure Low frequency vibration is detected.
• Please increase set value of ratio of load inertia moment
(servo parameter) when calculation starts (increase to
about 2 times).
Torque limit error failure
Calculation is suspended because
torque limit value is reached.
• Please increase torque limit value.
• Please increase set value of ratio of load inertia moment
(servo parameter) when calculation starts (increase to
about 2 times).
P control error failure
It is switched to proportional control in
calculation of moment of inertia ratio
For estimation of ratio of inertia moment, please set to PI
control.
