Operator Manual
Chapter 11:Graphic Equaliser (GEQ)
The XL8 Control Centre incorporates a graphic equaliser (GEQ), which is closely based
on the Klark Teknik DN370 Graphic Equaliser. Up to 16 of these GEQs are available and
are assigned and operated via a Graphic EQs screen on the GUI.
The GEQ is a single-channel, 31-band, third octave graphic equaliser. Each band is
switchable between 6dB and 12dB. In addition, the GEQ features switched 1st order
Treble and Bass filters and two notch filters with variable frequency ranges.
The GEQ is primarily a mono process, but in the case of stereo groups or mix channel
outputs, a stereo GEQ is controlled from a single set of controls.
The Graphic EQs screen
The GEQs screen represents a virtual rack of up to 16 user-configurable GEQs. Access
to the GEQ is via GUI only and can be done at any GUI screen, although this will
normally be the output bay GUI screen. Click on home at the top left-hand corner of
the GUI screen and then select Rack Units Graphic EQs. The Graphic EQs screen
(shown below) will appear.
