About this manual
Purpose
This is the operation manual for the XL8 Control Centre. It is intended to help get your
XL8 Control Centre installed and in operation as quickly as possible by giving you
unpacking, installation, connection and setting up instructions. To help familiarise you
with the XL8 Control Centre there is a description of the control surface and GUI, along
with easy-to-follow instructions that show you how to perform basic operations.
When you are confident that you know your way around the XL8 Control Centre and
want to learn more, please go on to read the chapter on advanced operation and the
ones after that, which give details on equalisation, automation, internal effects etc.
Intended readers
This manual is aimed at professionals, such as front of house (FOH) and monitor (MON)
engineers who will be using this equipment in a live performance environment. It is
assumed that the reader has prior experience of using professional audio equipment
and has, most likely, undergone training on this system.

This manual applies to the XL8 Control Centre running host software version 1.01 and
later.
Revisions
To keep in line with updates, modifications and general improvements to this
equipment, this manual will be continually updated. Manual amendments will be
carried out when necessitated by changes to the equipment’s hardware or software that
affect equipment functionality.
