XL8 Control Centre

MIDI
Standard 5-pin connectors are provided for used as MIDI in, out and through ports.
These are on the line out units and, therefore, are available at both the FOH and the
stage locations.
USB
Both USB host and USB slave ports are provided on all units and will, therefore, be
available at the FOH and stage locations. In addition, the control centre provides a
minimum of four USB host ports for keyboard (see “Keyboard connections and bay
allocation” on page 147), mouse (see “Mouse” on page 263) and removable storage
(see “Saving your show files to USB memory stick” on page 197).
VGA
The control centre has high density D-type connectors on that rear of the XL8 Control
Centre (see “Monitor connector panels” on page 149) that carry VGA signals for
external monitor connection.
HELIX auto solo
Provided by means of the Ethernet connections on the routers.
Network inter-operability
At least one port on the router will be for general rest of the world Ethernet traffic. This
port is isolated from the control centre Ethernet traffic by a routing table gateway
mechanism within the router itself.
