Description
WARNING
Electric shock caused by high leakage currents when the protective conductor in the line
supply cable is interrupted
The drive components conduct a high leakage current via the protective conductor. Touching
conductive parts when the protective conductor is interrupted can result in death or serious
injury.
• Carefully comply with the applicable regulations when dimensioning the protective
conductor.
Observe the following requirements for the protective conductor connection of the control
cabinet:
• All system and machine parts must be incorporated in the protective concept.
• For increased leakage currents, carefully ensure that the local regulations for protective
conductors at the
installation site are complied with.
• The protective connection for the motors used must be established through the motor cable.
• Use copper cables with a cross-section (> 2.5 mm
2
) for the ground connection of PROFIBUS
participants.
