WARNING
Hazardous voltage when connecting an external power supply
As a result of the connection, parts and components of the device can be live (under voltage).
Touching live components can result in death or severe injury.
• Connect the ground potential at the output of the power supply to the protective conductor
connection (PELV).
• Mount the power supply close to the drive line-up.
Ideally, they should be mounted on a common mounting plate. If dierent mounting plates
are used, they must be electrically connected in compliance with the requirements in
Conguration Manual EMC Installation Guideline (https://
support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/60612658).
Description
SELV or PELV power supplies can be used when using external 24 V power supplies. The
following points must be taken into account when using an external 24 V power supply:
• The cross-section of the connection between ground and the protective conductor
connection must be at least as large as the cross-section of the 24 V conductors.
• The 24 V terminal adapter must be used for the infeed in the drive line-up.
• The external power supply must be installed close to the drive line-up.
