Thisisrequiredifyouhaveaddednewhardwaretothecomputer,forexampleby
installinganextrainterfacecircuitboard.Ifyouhavepreviouslyreleasedanunused
serialport,butwishtobringitbacktoEK15use,youmustalsoclickthisbutton.
Thebuttonisdisabledifthecomputerhasnomoreserialcommunicationportsto
offer.Ifportsareavailable,asmalldialogboxisopenedtochooseport.
9Remove
OncetheEK15hasidentiedandlistedalltheavailableseriallinesonthecomputer,
thesecannotbeusedbyanyothersoftwareapplicationsonthesamecomputer.
IftheEK15doesnotneedaspecicserialline,itcanbereleasedforotheruse.Click
ontheapplicableporttoselectit,thenclicktheRemovebuttontodeletetheportfrom
thelist.Notethatnoacknowledgementisrequired,theportisremovedinstantly.
10Setup
Inordertouseaseriallinetoreceiveortransmitinformation,itscommunication
parametersmustbesetuptomatchthepropertiesoftheperipheraldevice.
Clickoneofthelistedportstoselectit,thenclicktheSetupbuttontosetuptheport
parameters.Adedicateddialogboxisprovided.

Ifyoususpectthatthecommunicationontheportisineffective,faultyormissing,
youcanmonitortheowoftelegrams.
