48 - Sweep System, Side Broom
Functional Description
Overview
The Side Brooms run in opposite
directions to direct debris from the sides of
the machine toward the center where the
main broom can direct it into the hopper.
The side broom sweep system includes
the Side Brooms, Side Broom Motors,
and the Side Broom Actuator which
lowers and raises the Side Brooms via
linkages connected to the Side Broom Lift
Weldment.
The Side Broom Actuator lowers the Side
Brooms any time the sweep system is
enabled. When setting the down position
of the side brooms, the controller counts
the run-time of the actuator motor. The
Side Broom Motors switch on when the
drive pedal is moved from the neutral
position. The operator can enable and
disable the Side Brooms independent of
the main sweep system.
