Chapter 3 Port Isolation Configuration

FS/S3526C Ethernet switches support the port isolation configuration.
3.1 Port Isolation Overview
With port isolation feature, different users can be assigned into the same VLAN, but
they are isolated from each other. This feature offers high network security, flexible
networking solution, as well as saving enormous VLAN resources.
3.2 Port Isolation Configuration
Port isolation configuration includes:
z Configuring port L2 isolation
z Configuring uplink port
3.2.1 Configuring Port L2 Isolation
When port L2 isolation is configured, L2 forwarding becomes unavailable between the
ports in the VLAN.
Perform the following configuration in VLAN view.

Disable port L2 isolation
undo port-isolate enable
By default, port L2 isolation is not enabled in a VLAN, that is, L2 forwarding is available
between the ports in a VLAN.
3.2.2 Configuring Uplink Port
After port L2 isolation is enabled in a VLAN, you can activate L2 forwarding of packets
on a isolated port by setting it as uplink port.
