Procedure
1. Connect the power and signal cables to the replacement backplane.
2. Align the backplane with the backplane slot in the chassis and the small slots
on top of the hard disk drive cage.
3. Lower the backplane into the slots on the chassis.
4. Rotate the top of the backplane until the front tab clicks into place into the
latches on the chassis.
5. Insert the hard disk drives and the fillers the rest of the way into the bays.
6. Replace the fan bracket and fans if you removed them.
7. Install the cover. For more information, see Installing the cover.
8. Slide the file module into the rack.
9. Follow the steps at the end of the procedure in “Removing a file module and
disconnecting power” on page 92 to suspend the file module to reconnect the
file module and resume its use in the cluster.
Removing a microprocessor and heat sink
IBM authorized service providers can remove and replace a microprocessor and
heat sink in the file module. The following procedure is for a field replaceable unit
(FRU). FRUs must be installed only by trained service technicians.
