Idler Sound Monitor Module
Hardware Setup
One side of the handle houses the microphone and cable. Insert the microphone in
its handle housing and feed the microphone’s cable through the handle’s cable
guides.
Refit the two halves of the handle by aligning the locking mechanism at the bottom
and sliding the handle halves together, then press firmly together to secure the
handle and screw the parabolic reflector back onto the parabolic reflector handle.
Attaching the Microphone / Parabolic reflector to the Microlog
There are two methods for holding the Idler Sound Monitor instrument, shoulder mount
and hand held:
Shoulder mount requires that you use the shoulder strap.
Hand held requires that you use the hand strap and install the back plate for
mounting the microphone / parabolic reflector to the Microlog.

Two Methods for Holding the Instrument; Shoulder Mount and Hand Held.
Shoulder Mount Method
If using the shoulder mount method, simply connect the microphone cable’s
connector to the Microlog’s CH1 connector at the top of the unit.
Hand Held Method
If using the hand held method, you must attach the adapter plate assembly (CMAC
5412) to the back of the Microlog which allows you to connect the parabolic reflector
to the back of the Microlog.
