Idler Sound Monitor Module
How to Perform a Conveyor Idler Roller Survey
How to Digitally “Note” Faulty Idler Rollers
As the survey takes place, the Idler Sound Monitor’s four acoustic measurements are
continuously stored in the Microlog’s memory approximately every 1.6 seconds.

Example of Idler Measurement Data with a Note Entered.
To digitally “note” a faulty idler:
• From the traffic light indicator screen, press the shift key (zero / up arrow) and then
the Notes function button. All data acquisition is temporarily halted and a Free
Text Note dialog displays on the screen.
• Use the Microlog’s keypad to enter text that identifies the faulty idler rollers
(typically a numeric entry), and press OK. Your note is stored with the current idler
roller data and data acquisition resumes.
• Continue to the next set of idler rollers.
