Instrument Panel Design
3-2 SkyView HDX System Installation Manual - Revision E
3.3.5 Qualitative Assesment
Assess the installation design before committing to implementation by answering the
following:
• Is the system providing the necessary information to support the intended functions
and to achieve the associated tasks?
• Is the level of detail, accuracy, integrity, reliability, timeliness, and update rate of
the information matched appropriately to the task associated with the intended
function?
• Does the use of the system impair the pilot’s ability to use other systems or do
other tasks?
• Does the system or the use of the system impair the safe operation or the intended
function of other systems or equipment?
If any of the above considerations are not sufficiently met, adjust the design.
3.4 Volumetric Requirements
The following figures provides the volumetric space required by the HDX1100 and
HDX800 displays (with and without optional avionics trays), EFIS-D10A Standby Display,
and the optional COM, Autopilot, and Knob Control Panels. All volumetric space
dimensions include additional space for the “worst-case” electrical connectors and
harnesses bent 90 degrees at minimum bend radius.
