As demonstrated in Figure 17, the SkyView panel-mounted equipment, as well as many
other panel-mounted equipment can confortably fit within the calculated boundaries of the
Primary Maximum Field-of-View.
3.3.4 Qualitative Considerations
After the quantitative considerations have been applied to the retrofit installation design,
a qualitative assessment of the information being displayed shall occur. Many other
factors need to be considered when determining the acceptability of displayed information
in the cockpit. These factors should include the following:
• Readability
• Clutter
• Pilot scan pattern
• Pilot workload
• Parallax
• Frequency of use and criticality
• Attention-getting
• Out-the-window correlation
• Pilot disorientation
• Illumination and glare
