Using the Camera as a Webcam (Webcam)
The camera can be connected to a computer and used as a webcam for online meetings and live
streaming. No additional drivers or applications are necessary. Video and audio data captured by the
camera is streamed to the computer by simply connecting the two devices via USB (USB streaming).
Check that the camera is turned off and rotate the mode dial to n.
Connect the camera to the computer.
The locations of USB ports vary from computer to computer. See the documentation
provided with the computer for information on USB ports.
Turn the camera on.
If it is not displayed on the screen, select [Select] for [USB Mode] (P.405).
If the batteries are very low, the camera will not display a message when connecting to a
computer. Be sure the batteries are charged.
Highlight [Webcam] using FG and press the OK button.
The camera will enter shooting mode.
The f icon will be displayed.
Adjust the brightness and focus by operating the camera.
On the PC, launch the desired web conferencing or streaming service application. Select the
model name of the connected camera in the device settings for the application.
Streaming of video and audio will begin.
Video will be streamed in [FHD] (1280Ă—720) movie resolution.
When [Frame Rate] is set to [60p], [30p] or [24p] for [nX], video is streamed at [30p].
When it is set to [50p] or [25p], video is streamed at [25p].
The camera can be used as a webcam even if no card is inserted.
If an external microphone is connected, audio captured by the microphone will be streamed.
When [Yes] is selected for [Power Supply from USB], USB power is supplied to the camera from
the PC while using it as a webcam.
