SV-XPNDR-261/262 Installation and Configuration
11-24 SkyView System Installation Guide - Revision AA
SIL/SDA=1. This change is made by default when a SkyView system, with an SV-GPS-250 as its
primary GPS, is updated to SkyView Software v14.0 (or later).
After your SkyView system is configured to transmit SIL/SDA=1, the ADS-B system will (again)
transmit TIS-B (ADS-B traffic) to an aircraft so that an aircraft can display “ADS-B traffic” specific
to that aircraft. This is only effective for the period early 2016 through December 31, 2019.
Beginning January 1, 2020, the FAA 2020 ADS-B Out mandate is in effect, and SIL/SDA=1 is no
longer adequate.
SkyView Systems with an SV-GPS-250 as primary GPS…
… are changed to SDA/SIL=1 when Software is updated to v14.0 (or later)
The following is applicable to all aircraft with a SkyView system equipped with:
SV-GPS-250 (but not an SV-GPS-2020)
No high integrity GPS position source connected to the SV-XPNDR-261/262
SV-XPNDR-261/262
In SkyView systems so equipped, with Software earlier than v14.0, the following setting was in
effect:
SETUP MENU > TRANSPONDER SETUP > GPS DATA (OK) > SKYVIEW
This setting caused the SkyView system to transmit SIL/SDA=0.
After updating your SkyView system to v14.0 (or later), that setting is automatically changed
(new default) as illustrated in Figure 137:
