Fuel Pressure Sensor
Kavlico Fuel Pressure Sensors:
5 PSI (Gravity Feed) – P/N 101715-000
15 PSI (Carbureted) – P/N 101690-000
50 PSI (Fuel Injected) – P/N 101716-000
Mount the fuel pressure sensor securely using an
Adel clamp or other method such as using a
transducer mounting block on the firewall. Dynon
Avionics does not recommend mounting the sensor
directly to the engine to minimize the chance of
mechanical failure of the transducer due to engine
vibration. The fuel pressure sensor port has a 1/8-27 NPT pipe thread fitting; thus you may
need adapters to connect to the pressure port on your engine. Locate the correct fuel pressure
port for your engine. This port must have a pressure fitting with a restrictor hole in it. This
restrictor hole ensures that, in the event of a sensor failure, fuel leakage rate is minimized,
allowing time for an emergency landing.
Retrofit Legacy Fuel Pressure Sensors with Kavlico Oil Pressure Sensor
If you are retrofitting a Kavlico Fuel Pressure Sensor into a system which used the legacy fuel
pressure sensors supplied by Dynon Avionics (see below), the Power (Red wire) and Ground
(Black wire) can be “tapped” from the Manifold Pressure (MAP) sensor that is likely already
installed on the engine. The Sensor output (Green wire) is changed from the legacy sensor to
the Kavlico sensor.
