SV-XPNDR-261/262 Installation and Configuration
SkyView System Installation Guide - Revision AA 11-27
Installation of Dynon Avionics SV-GPS-2020 for compliance with FAA 2020 ADS-B Out
mandate
The most common GPS position source for compliance for performance requirements for GPS
data for FAA 2020 ADS-B Out mandate is the SV-GPS-2020 GPS Antenna/Receiver Module (High
Integrity GPS - meets FAA 2020 ADS-B Out requirements). Installation is described in SV-GPS-
250/2020 GPS Receiver Installation and Configuration earlier in this manual. For compliance,
the SV-GPS-2020 must be installed in conjunction with an installed SV-XPNDR-261 with up-to-
date Software (see SV-XPNDR-261/262 Software Updates later in this section), and SkyView
Software v14.0 (or later).
If you have already installed and configured the serial port setup for an SV-GPS-2020, perform
the following steps to complete the SV-GPS-2020 installation:
SETUP MENU > TRANSPONDER SETUP > GPS DATA (OK) and select DYNON SV-GPS-2020.
SkyView Diagnostic - Determining Your SkyView System’s Compliance
with FAA 2020 ADS-B Out Mandate
SkyView can provide guidance as to whether your ADS-B Out installation and configuration is
compliant with the FAA ADS-B Out 2020 Mandate (SkyView Software v12.2 or later is required):
SETUP MENU > TRANSPONDER SETUP – Note the second line:
USA PART 91.227 COMPLIANT: YES | NO
If your SkyView system is not compliant with 14 CFR § 91.227, some guidance as to why your
SkyView is not compliant will be provided. In Figure 138 below, the SkyView system has an SV-
GPS-250 connected, set to SIL/SDA=1, which as explained elsewhere, does not meet the
requirements for 14 CFR § 91.227 (ADS-B OUT), and thus this SkyView system is not compliant
with 14 CFR § 91.227.
