SkyView System Installation Guide - Revision AA 11-35
SV-XPNDR-261/262 Software Update SW02.09
SV-XPNDR-261/262 Software SW02.09 was included with SkyView Software v14.2.1.3698 on
2016-04-12. SV-XPNDR-261/262s sold after that date may already have Software SW02.09
already installed. This new version of SV-XPNDR-261/262 Software includes:
Fix for a bug that would cause some SkyView pilots to see FAA ADS-B 2020 Compliance
Reports fail due to high count of out of range NIC and NACp values.
SV-XPNDR-261/262 Software SW02.09 incorporates all previous Software changes (see notes
from previous SV-XPNDR-261/262 Software updates below). You can update your SV-XPNDR-
261/262 directly to SW02.09 from any previous version – “step-by-step” Software updates are
not required.
SV-XPNDR-261/262 Software Update SW02.09 Quick Decision Points
Not all SkyView pilots must, or should update their SV-XPNDR-261/262 Software to SW02.09.
Dynon Avionics recommends that you do update your SV-XPNDR-261/262 Software to SW02.09
if any of the following points apply:
If you have installed, or will soon install, the Dynon Avionics SV-GPS-2020 GPS
Antenna/Receiver Module, or
Or if…
• You are a US pilot, and
• You have an SV-GPS-250 GPS receiver installed, and
• You have an SV-ADSB-470 ADS-B In receiver installed, and
• Your SV-XPNDR-261/262’s Software is earlier than SW02.08
Or if you have a Garmin GNS, GTN or another certified GPS that is directly connected to
the SV-XPNDR-261/262 to provide a certified position source, and the SV-XPNDR-
261/262 Software is earlier than SW02.06.
It is optional to update your SV-XPNDR-261/262 to Software SW02.09 if:
In the STATUS line, “SW02.09” (or later) is shown; Software SW02.09 is already installed
on your SV-XPNDR-261/262.
Or if you are a non-US pilot, and you fly only outside the US, none of the FAA or ADS-B
requirements or updates apply, thus you are not required to update your SV-XPNDR-
261/262 Software.
Until your SV-XPNDR-261/262 is updated to v2.08 or later, a newly-installed SV-
GPS-2020 will not function correctly.
Until your SV-XPNDR-261/262 is updated to v2.08 or later, a SkyView system with
an SV-GPS-250 will be unable to transmit SIL/SDA=1 correctly. A minimum of
SIL/SDA=1 is required by the US ADS-B system for the SkyView system to receive
ADS-B traffic.
