Saving a Screenshot of a Specific Screen
It is sometimes helpful to have a screenshot of a behavior to share with Dynon Avionics
Technical Support. Screenshots recorded with this method are far superior to photos because
they are always “in focus” and they include all of the detain on screen. Screenshots are also
useful to have for your records for how your SkyView display was configured, especially
detailed menus such as Serial Port Setup, Sensor Input Mapping, etc. To accomplish this:
Insert a USB flash drive into your SkyView USB port.
When you want to save a screenshot of the display, press buttons 2 and 7 on that display
simultaneously. SkyView will display a message indicating that a screenshot has been saved.
The screenshot can be found in the “screenshots” folder on the USB flash drive when the
USB flash drive is connected to a computer.
If a Language Pack is installed, two screen shot files will be saved to the USB flash drive
one in English, and one in the language of the Language Pack.
If requested by Dynon Avionics Technical Support, email the screenshot files to:
support@dynonavionics.com.
Savings a Settings File (Configuration of your SkyView system)
It is sometimes helpful to send your system configuration settings to Dynon Avionics Technical
Support. A settings file is also useful to have for your records for how your SkyView display was
configured. With a Settings File, a new SkyView display can be mostly restored by loading this
file. To accomplish this:
Insert a USB flash drive into your SkyView USB port.
SETUP MENU > SYSTEM SOFTWARE > EXPORT SETTINGS… > (one more right click).
For your records, put the USB flash drive (or at least the files) in a safe place.
If requested by Dynon Avionics Technical Support, email the settings files to:
support@dynonavionics.com.
Saving a Dynon Diagnostic File
In rare cases, Technical Support will request you to send a Dynon Avionics Diagnostic File. To
accomplish this:
Insert a USB flash drive into your SkyView USB port.
SETUP MENU > SYSTEM SOFTWARE > EXPORT DYNON DIAGNOSTIC FILE… > (one more right
click).
This file is too large to send in an email message. If Dynon Avionics Technical Support has
requested that you send a Dynon Diagnostic File, go to
http://www.dynonavionics.com/docs/upload.html to transmit the file to Dynon Avionics.
Please reference any previous communications with Dynon Avionics Technical Support such
as Case number, RMA number, etc.
