SkyView Display Installation and Configuration
20-4 SkyView System Installation Guide - Revision AA
The label on the SV-MAG-236’s must be oriented towards the top of the aircraft.
The side of the SV-MAG-236 where the cable exists must be oriented towards the nose
of the aircraft (as noted on the label of the unit – CABLE END FORWARD).
The side of the SV-MAG-236 with the LED indicator must be oriented towards the rear
of the aircraft.
The SV-MAG-236 will not be able to indicate correct heading if it is rotated or
inverted in any other orientation.
The SV-MAG-236 must be installed in the same orientation as the SV-ADAHRS-
200/201. The SV-ADAHRS-200/201 is required to be level, and the SV-MAG-236 is
also. If the SV-ADAHRS-200/201 is installed with a pitch other than 0°, the SV-
MAG-236 must be installed with the same pitch. As with the SV-ADAHRS-200/201,
it may be necessary to use an electronic level as a “spirit” or “bubble” level may
not be able to display an accurate enough degree of level.
Dynon Avionics does not provide mounting hardware with SV-MAG-236. The mounting tabs on
each side of the module have holes sized for #10 fasteners, but it is up to the installer to decide
how the SV-MAG-236 will be secured to the aircraft.
For best performance, it is recommended that button-head style non-ferrous (brass
recommended) fasteners be used to install the SV-MAG-236in this location. Follow
recommended torque practices when tightening the mounting hardware. Do not rivet the SV-
MAG-236 to the aircraft as this will hinder future removal if necessary.
Do not use a magnetic driver when installing the SV-MAG-236. Doing so has the
potential to affect the factory magnetic calibration.
Optional SV-OAT-340 Connected to SV-MAG-236
Each SV-ADAHRS-200 and SV-ADAHRS-201 includes an SV-OAT-340. The SV-MAG-236 does not
include an SV-OAT-340, but one can be purchased separately – contact Dynon Avionics Sales.
Only one SV-OAT-340 is required in a SkyView system. The SV-OAT-340 can be connected to an
SV-ADAHRS-200, or an SV-ADAHRS-201, or an SV-MAG-236. In a SkyView System which has an
SV-ADAHRS-200, an SV-ADAHRS-201, and an SV-MAG-236, it is possible to have a total of three
SV-OAT-340s, but only one SV-OAT-340 is used by the system at one time. If more than one SV-
OAT-340 is installed, the system “chooses” which of the three to use for OAT.
For example, if the SV-ADAHRS-200 is installed in an area of the plane where it is inconvenient
to route the SV-OAT-340 wiring, and the SV-MAG-236 is more accessible to the SV-OAT-340,
just connect the SV-OAT-340 to the SV-MAG-236 (instead of to the SV-ADAHRS-200).
