Software updates.
• USA PART 91.227 COMPLIANT: YES | NO Displays whether the combination
of the selected GPS, the SV-XPNDR-261 model, and the GPS data being
received is compliant with 14 CFR § 91.227 (YES is displayed) or not (NO is
displayed).
When this field is highlighted, additional information about the status (YES |
NO) is displayed, such as no data is being received from the GPS, thus NO is
displayed. NO could be displayed when the GPS is not powered on or does not
yet have a full “lock” on the GPS constellation (such as when you are in a
hangar). Error Messages include:
o TRANSPONDER SOFTWARE NEEDS TO BE UPDATED – The SV-
XPNDR-261’s Software has not been updated to v2.6 (minimum for
compliance with 14 CFR § 91.227).
o NO COMPLIANT GPS PRESENT – The type of GPS selected is not
compliant.
o NO GPS DATA (GPS OFFLINE OR MISCONFIGURED) – GPS data of the
format selected is not being received by the SV-XPNDR-261.
o GPS PROTOCOL MISCONFIGURED, CHANGE TO ADS-B – PROTOCOL
– The Garmin GPS is transmitting the older ADS-B format rather than the
(now) required ADS-B PLUS (+) format.

• TRANSPONDER WARNINGS: If a message other than NONE appears for
TRANSPONDER WARNINGS, see Transponder Warnings (Transponder Self
Diagnostics) later in this section for detailed explanation of the various
transponder warnings.
• GPS DATA: Displays status of the GPS input to the SV-XPNDR-261: GPS
DATA (OK) – GPS data is being received by the SV-XPNDR-261 or GPS DATA
(OFFLINE) – GPS data is not being received by the SV-XPNDR-261.
