Step 3
Set admin-status on the target port to DOWN.
Command Example:
% set eqpt shelf 1 slot 0 subslot 0 port E1 admin-status down
Step 4
Provision AINS on the target port.
Note: AINS can be enabled only when admin status of the target port is set to DOWN.
Command Example:
% set eqpt shelf 1 slot 0 subslot 0 port E1 ains enabled
Step Result:
Alarm free me (ACTVST) increases every alarm-free minute for the enty under test.
Note: When VSTIMER expires, AINS seng is disabled and admin-status automacally transions to UP. Aer
transion, the alarm is raised as normal severity.
Step 5
Save the changes.
Command:
% commit
Step 6
Retrieve current mer count value as ACTVST for the target port.
Command Example:
> show eqpt shelf 1 slot 0 subslot 0 port E1 ACTVST
