Unpack and Inspect Equipment
Warning: The blade, PIU, or pluggable module (SFP/SFP+/CFP4) can be damaged by Electrostac Discharge
(ESD) during installaon or removal. Ensure that ESD handling precauons are observed, when handling
equipment to prevent possible ESD equipment damage.
Warning: Use two hands when handling the blade to avoid damaging the unit.
Step 1
Before unpacking the equipment, inspect the shipping containers for signs of damage.
Note: Claims for shipping damage must be led with the transportaon company in accordance with their
published procedure. Contact Fujitsu Sales Representave for any shipment quesons.
Step 2
Unpack and carefully remove the equipment from its shipping container and place it on a clean, level, and ESD-
safe surface. Use two hands as shown in the following gure to remove a blade unit from container.
Aenon: Leave the blade or PIU in the ESD-protecve plasc bag unl ready for installaon.

Step 3
Inspect the equipment to ensure that it is free of any defects, damage, or other debris. If the equipment is
damaged, follow local pracces/procedures for repair or replacement of the damaged unit, as applicable.
