1.4.4
Proxy ARP
Proxy Address Resoluon Protocol (Proxy-ARP) is enabled on a Gateway Network Element (GNE). The GNE serves
as a proxy for IPv4 communicaon between remote subtended nodes and a DCN router. When enabled, the GNE
uses its Ethernet address in all management frames and allows NEs to be managed remotely by forwarding
management frames between itself and the DCN. The GNE and the subtended nodes must be on the same IPv4
subnet connected through an embedded data communicaons channel, for example, OSC. The GNE is
provisioned with a default or stac route and OSPF is enabled on all embedded communicaon channels with
stac route distribuon enabled.
1.4.5
Scripting Automation—
Python
The scripng automaon feature allows Level-4 users to run their own Python scripts to simplify system
administraon tasks. The Python scripts can provision and monitor a device using the Python CLI library.
Scripts can be executed in four ways:
On Demand Immediately, through CLI
Bootup Upon start-up
Periodic At specied mes/dates
Event When an alarm is raised/cleared or an event nocaon occurs
Bootup, Periodic, and Event scripts require the provisioning of a Bootup prole, a Periodic prole, and an Event
prole, respecvely. An On Demand script does not require provisioning.
Note: For more detailed scripng automaon informaon, refer to Scripng Automaon Guide, available on the
Fujitsu Partners website, hps://partners.fnc.fujitsu.com/documentaon.
1.4.6
Secure Copy
Secure Copy (SCP) is a command line ulity that is used to securely copy les and directories between a local
machine and a remote NE over an SSH connecon. This ulity is included in most Linux
®
and UNIX
®
environments. When transferring data with SCP, both the les and passwords are encrypted.
The following commands are used for SCP le transfer. The user can execute the commands through the bash
shell started from CLI or through shell on the CONSOLE port.
Command (Send File):
scp <SourceFile> <user>@<host>:<directory>/<TargetFile>
