Proxy ARP
Proxy Address Resoluon Protocol (Proxy-ARP) is enabled on a Gateway Network Element (GNE). The GNE serves
as a proxy for IPv4 communicaon between remote subtended nodes and a DCN router. When enabled, the GNE
uses its Ethernet address in all management frames and allows NEs to be managed remotely by forwarding
management frames between itself and the DCN. The GNE and the subtended nodes must be on the same IPv4
subnet connected through an embedded data communicaons channel, for example, OSC. The GNE is
provisioned with a default or stac route and OSPF is enabled on all embedded communicaon channels with
stac route distribuon enabled.
1.4.5
Scripting Automation—
Python
The scripng automaon feature allows Level-4 users to run their own Python scripts to simplify system
administraon tasks. The Python scripts can provision and monitor a device using the Python CLI library.
Scripts can be executed in four ways:
On Demand Immediately, through CLI
Bootup Upon start-up
Periodic At specied mes/dates
Event When an alarm is raised/cleared or an event nocaon occurs
Bootup, Periodic, and Event scripts require the provisioning of a Bootup prole, a Periodic prole, and an Event
prole, respecvely. An On Demand script does not require provisioning.
Note: For more detailed scripng automaon informaon, refer to Scripng Automaon Guide, available on the
Fujitsu Partners website, hps://partners.fnc.fujitsu.com/documentaon.
