Colorless (Direct Access) ROADM Application
Up to four degrees of direct access Recongurable Opcal Add/Drop Mulplexer (ROADM) are supported. Each
degree of ROADM requires an L100 (BDL1-3R11) 1x9 WSS ROB.
With the direct access feature, narrowband signals can be directly connected to the client ports (C1…C9) of each
L100 Blade. The add/drop signals from the client ports are mapped to a channel on the edge port (E1) of the
L100 Blade. Pass-through signals between ROADM degrees can pass through a client port (C1…C9) on the L100
Blade at each degree to a client port (C1…C9) on the L100 Blade at the other degree.
The following gure shows an example of add/drop cabling for a 4-degree colorless ROADM conguraon.
