Groups and Permission Levels
Group Role Access Privilege Descripon
Level-1 Read-Only User Read-only access privileges, including retrieving alarm and PM informaon
Note: Level-1 cannot access security- or encrypon-related informaon.
Level-2 PM Operator Level-1 access privileges, plus can reset PMs
Level-3 Equipment Operator Level-2 access privileges, plus access to provision equipment and interfaces
Level-4 Super User Full access to system, provisioning, security, and crypto-encrypon funcons
Level-5 System Operator Level-3 access privileges, plus access to system funcons
Note: Level-5 cannot access security and crypto-encrypon funcons.
Note: Level-5 cannot add, change, or delete users.
Level-6 Security Operator Security access privileges only, plus can add, change, or delete users
Note: Level-6 cannot access system, provisioning, and crypto-encrypon
funcons.
Level-7 Crypto-User Provision data-encrypon interfaces and read the encrypon status on the
encrypon-enabled interfaces
Note: Level-7 only applies to products that support data encrypon.
Level-8 Crypto-Ocer Level-7 access privileges, plus can create crypto-user, crypto-ocer, and can set
global encrypon policy
Note: Level-8 only applies to products that support data encrypon.
Note: A Level-4 user must create the rst Level-8 user account. Addional
Level-8 user accounts can be created by a Level-4 or Level-8 user.

Create/Edit/Delete User
Users can be created and edited with the following CLI command, where <username> conforms to username
rules, <password> conforms to password rules, and <level-1…level-6> declares the user group.
Command:
% set users user <username> password <password> group <level-1...level-6>
The maximum number of users that can be created is 100.
In the YANG model, each user is a child node of the users node.
Remember:
In conguraon mode (command prompt ends with %), changes are made to the
candidate conguraon and do not aect in the running conguraon unl a successful commit or
commit conrm command is entered.
