Virtuora NC leverages open soware, for example, OpenDaylight (a Linux Foundaon
®
), and is designed to be
deployed (and scale) on virtual, cloud-based, infrastructure.
Virtuora NC interacts directly with network devices through southbound interfaces. Operators and northbound
soware systems interact indirectly with the network through Virtuora NC. Virtuora NC provides operators and
northbound soware systems with a higher-level abstract view of the network and tools for conguring,
monitoring, and managing services within the network.

Virtuora NC congures, monitors, and manages network devices (both legacy and non-legacy) through
southbound interfaces using a variety of protocols, including NETCONF, OpenFlow, TL1, and CLI. Virtuora NC
manages the 1FINITY devices with the NETCONF protocol.
Virtuora NC northbound interface REST APIs allow it to be integrated with the service provider local operaons
and business support systems (OSS/BSS). Northbound REST APIs allow Virtuora NC to team with local soware
systems to realize the service provider vision for automated SDN-based service delivery.
Virtuora NC provides a graphical user interface that operators can use to congure, monitor, and manage the
network in a tradional (non-SDN) fashion.
