Basic software procedures
Flash Memory Recovery Mode
I For Japan, follow the instructions provided separately.
Ê Prepare a bootable USB stick, see section "Flash BIOS update" on page 77.
Ê Switch off the system and disconnect the power plug.
Ê Open the chassis and switch on "Recovery" (BIOS-RCV) using the jumper /
DIP switch (SW4-5) on the system board.
Ê Reconnect the power plug.
Ê Boot the system from the inserted bootable USB stick.
Ê Change the directory with cd DOS and start the Flash BIOS Update with the
command DosFlash. Then follow the instructions on the screen.
Ê Observe the update process on the screen, until it is finished. The recovery
update may take several minutes.
V CAUTION!
Do not interrupt the BIOS flash process after it has started. If the
process is interrupted, the system BIOS may be permanently
corrupted.
Ê Switch off the system and disconnect the power plug.
Ê Remove the USB stick.
Ê Return the "Recovery" (BIOS-RCV) jumper / DIP (SW4-5) switch which have
been changed to the initial position.
Ê Reconnect the power plug and switch on the system.
Ê The system will be booted with the new BIOS revision.
Ê Check the settings in the BIOS setup utility. If necessary, reconfigure the
settings again.
