9.6.1 Preliminary steps
Perform the following procedures:
Ê "Disabling the boot watchdog functionality of ServerView Operations
Manager" on page 73
Ê Locate the desired server with the ID button.
Ê "Shutting down the server node" on page 50
Ê If applicable, remove all external cables from the server node.
Ê "Removing the server node from the server enclosure" on page 51
9.6.2 Replacing the system board
Ê "Removing memory modules" on page 194
I Ensure to take note of the memory modules’ mounting positions for
reassembly.
Ê "Removing the riser module" on page 58
Ê Remove all cables from the system board.
Ê "Removing the FBU" on page 149 (if applicable)
Ê "Removing the OCP mezzanine card" on page 161 (if applicable)
I Ensure to take note of the controllers’ mounting positions and cable
connections for reassembly.
Ê "Removing the M.2 SSD" on page 276 (if applicable)
Ê "Removing the iRMC microSD card" on page 294 (if applicable)
Ê In case of Liquid Cooling, carefully remove the CPUs with the LC heat sinks
from the defective system board, see section "Removing the LC heat sinks"
on page 224.
I In case of Liquid Cooling, VRM heat sinks need to be removed before
replacing the system board, see section section "Preliminary works:
server node with Liquid Cooling".
This procedure is not applied for Japan.
