VPN instance

tunnels is changed (For configuration of tunnel policies, refer to VPN Tunnel
Management in this manual.)
Data Preparation
To configure the VPN instance, you need the following data.

1 Name of VPN instance and the RD
2 (Optional) Description of the VPN instance
3 VPN target attributes
4 (Optional) Maximum number of routes allowed by the VPN instance
5 (Optional) Routing policy that controls transmitting and receiving of VPN routing
information
6 (Optional) Tunnel policy
3.3.2 Creating a VPN Instance
Context
Do as follows on the PE that is connected to a CE.
Procedure
Step 1 Run:
system-view
The system view is displayed.
Step 2 Run:
ip vpn-instance vpn-instance-name
A VPN instance is created and the VPN instance view is displayed.
NOTE
The name of a VPN instance is case sensitive. For example, "vpn1" and "VPN1" indicate different VPN
instances.
A PE does not have a default VPN instance. Multiple VPN instances can be created on a PE.
The maximum number of VPN instances depends on the product type.
Step 3 Run:
route-distinguisher route-distinguisher
The RD of a VPN instance is configured.
