6.3.1 Establishing the Configuration Task
Applicable Environment
When PEs use BGP as the VPLS signaling, you can configure Kompella VPLS. Automatic
discovery of VPLS PEs is implemented by configuring VPN targets.
Pre-configuration Tasks
Before configuring Kompella VPLS, complete the following tasks:
l Configuring the static routes or an IGP protocol on PE and P on the MPLS backbone
network to implement IP connectivity
l Configuring LSR IDs and enabling MPLS on PEs and Ps
l Enabling MPLS L2VPN on PEs
l Establishing a tunnel between PEs to transmit user data
Data Preparation
To configure Kompella VPLS, you need the following data.

1 BGP peers used for exchanging VPLS information
2 Names of VSIs
3 RDs and VPN targets of VSIs
4 CE ID of a site, maximum number of CEs that are permitted to access the VPLS, and
default offset value of the CE ID
5 Name and number of an interface that is bound to a VSI
6.3.2 Enabling BGP Peers to Exchange VPLS Information
Context
Do as follows on the PEs at both ends of a PW.
Procedure
Step 1 Run:
system-view
The system view is displayed.
Step 2 Run:
bgp as-number
The BGP view is displayed.
