Pre-configuration Tasks
Before configuring inter-AS PWE3, complete the following tasks:
l Configuring an IGP protocol for MPLS backbone networks in each AS to ensure IP
connectivity within an AS
l Configuring the basic MPLS capacity on the MPLS backbone network of each AS
l Configuring MPLS LDP and establishing LDP LSP for the MPLS backbone network in
each AS
Data Preparation
To configure inter-AS PWE3, you need the following data.

5.9.2 Configuring Inter-AS PWE3-Option A
Context
The configurations of inter-AS PWE3-Option A can be summarized as follows:
l Perform the steps given in Configuring a Dynamic PW in each AS.
l Configure the peer ASBR-PE as the CE of the local ASBR-PE.
l Do not perform inter-AS-related configurations on the ASBR-PE.
l Do not configure the IP addresses for the interfaces connecting the ASBR-PEs.
The configuration procedure is not mentioned.
5.9.3 Checking the Configuration
Prerequisite
The configurations of the inter-AS PWE3 are complete.
Procedure
l Run the display mpls l2vc [ vc-id | interface interface-type interface-number ] command
on the PE to view information about the local end of the PW.
l Run the display mpls l2vc remote-info [ vc-id ] command on the PE to view information
about the remote end of the PW.
