connectivity of a PW in MPLS router alert mode, you need to run the vccv cc alert cv lsp-
ping command on PW templates on both ends of the PW.
When running the tracert vc command to locate a PW fault, you need to pay attention to the
following points:
l The S-PEs do not support this command. (The command is supported only by U-PEs.)
l This command can be used to tracert an SH-PW and an MH-PW created by LDP.
l When tracerting an MH-PW, besides the local PW ID and PW type, you need to specify the
remote PW ID.
l When the tracert vc command is run, the tracert operation is terminated the following cases:
l The PE that initiates tracert receives an MPLS Echo Reply message from the egress PE.
l The TTL in the label of the previous MPLS Echo Request message sent by the device that
initiates tracert reaches the set or default maximum number of hops.
l The user presses Ctrl+C on the device that initiates tracert.
By orderly sending MPLS Echo Request messages with the TTL of the out-label being 1, 2, 3…
and the TTL of the in-label being 1, the source PE of PWE3 Tracert collects the information
about each LSR and egress PE that the PW passes through. If you don not want a device to send
the MPLS Echo Reply messages after receiving the MPLS Echo Request messages from another
device, run the following commands in the system view of the device:
l Run the undo lspv mpls-lsp-ping echo enable command to disable a device from responding
to MPLS Echo Request messages.
l Or run the lspv packet-filter acl-number command to configure the Access Control List
(ACL) rules to filter the MPLS Echo Request messages based on the source IP addresses.
To view information about PWE3 Tracert of the current device, run the following commands
on the device:
l Run the display lspv statistics command to view the statistics of PWE3 tracert.
l Run the display lspv configuration command to view the configuration of PWE3 tracert.
To clear statistics on PWE3 tracert, run the following command in the user view of the device:
l Run the reset lspv statistics command to clear the statistics of PWE3 tracert.

5.10.3 Debugging PWE3
Context
CAUTION
Debugging affects the performance of the system. So, after debugging, run the undo debugging
all command to disable it immediately.
When a PWE3 fault occurs, run the following debugging commands in the user view to locate
the fault.
