5.3.3 Configuring the Attributes for a PW Template
Context
Do as follows on the PEs at both ends of a PW.
Procedure
Step 1 Run:
pw-template pw-template-name
The PW template view is displayed.
Step 2 (Optional) Run:
mtu mtu-value
The MTU in the PW template is specified.
Step 3 (Optional) Run:
peer-address ip-address
An IP address is assigned to the remote PE on the PW.
Step 4 (Optional) Run:
control-word
The CW function is enabled.
Step 5 (Optional) Run:
vccv cc { alert | cw } * cv { bfd | lsp-ping } *
Detection on the connectivity of VCs is enabled.
Step 6 (Optional) Run:
tnl-policy policy-name
A tunnel policy is set for the PW.
Steps 2 to 6 are optional and can be selected as required. In step 4, if you use the CW to detect
the connectivity, you must enable the CW function first.
If you specify certain PW attribute through commands, the same PW attribute specified in the
PW template does not function on the PW to which this PW template is applied.
If the connectivity detection of the PW is required, it is recommended that you configure the U-
PEs to set up the PW by using the PW template and enable VCCV:
l In CW mode, for the dynamic SH-PW or the dynamic MH-PW, VCCV must be enabled on
two U-PEs at the same time.
l For the static MH-PW or mixed PW, VCCV must be enabled on the S-PEs.
