Step 3 Run:
peer peer-address as-number as-number
A BGP peer is configured.
Step 4 (Optional) Run
peer peer-address connect-interface interface-type interface-number
An interface is specified for creating a TCP connection.
NOTE
To improve reliability, a PE generally sets up a TCP connection on the local loopback interface.
Step 5 Run:
vpls-family
The BGP-VPLS sub-address family view is displayed.
Step 6 Run:
peer peer-address enable
BGP peers are enabled to exchange VPLS information.
NOTE
BGP VPLS shares a TCP link with the common BGP protocol. Most configurations of a BGP VPLS
network are the same as the configurations of the BGP protocol. To exchange information about a VPLS
label block, you need to enable peers to exchange VPLS block labels in the BGP VPLS sub-address family
view.
NOTE
For information about commands in the BGP VPLS sub-address family view, refer to the chapter "IP
Routing Commands" in the Quidway S9300Terabit Routing Switch Command Reference.

6.3.3 Creating a VSI and Configuring the BGP Signaling
Context
Do as follows on the PEs at both ends of a PW:
Procedure
Step 1 Run:
system-view
The system view is displayed.
Step 2 Run:
vsi vsi-name auto
A vsi which uses the static member discovery mechanism is created.
The Kompella VPLS does not directly operate on the connection between CEs. Each CE has a
globally unique number. On a PE, a VSI is created for each CE that is directly connected to this
PE.
Step 3 Run:
