A Spoke-PE needs to be configured with one VPN instance; a Hub-PE needs to be configured
with two VPN instances, namely, VPN-in and VPN-out.
l VPN-in receives and maintains all the VPNv4 routes advertised by Spoke-PEs.
l VPN-out maintains the routes of Hub sites and Spoke sites, and then advertises the routes
to all the Spoke-PEs.
NOTE
The following is the configuration procedure of a VPN instance. The configuration procedures of all VPN
instances are similar; the instance names, RDs, and description of different VPN instances, however, may
be different.
Procedure
Step 1 Run:
system-view
The system view is displayed.
Step 2 Run:
ip vpn-instance vpn-instance-name
A VPN instance is created and the VPN instance view is displayed.
The name of a VPN instance is case sensitive. For example, "vpn1" and "VPN1" indicate
different VPN instances.
Step 3 Run:
route-distinguisher route-distinguisher
The RD of the VPN instance is configured.
A VPN instance takes effect only after it is configured with an RD. Before configuring an RD,
you can configure only the description.
Step 4 (Optional) Run:
description description-information
The description of the VPN instance is configured.
The description contains the information such as host name and interface description. It also
contains the relationship between a VPN instance and a VPN. You can configure the description
as required.
Step 5 (Optional) Run:
apply-label per-instance
The MPLS labels are allocated based on VPN instances. Then, all the routes in the VPN instance
use the same label.
In general, each route is assigned a label (one label per route). The S9300 can allocate MPLS
labels based on VPN instances, that is, allocate a label to each VPN instance. All the routes in
the VPN instance use the same label.
Step 6 (Optional) Run:
routing-table limit number { alert-percent | simply-alert }
The maximum number of routes in the VPN instance is set.
