Configuration Roadmap
The configuration roadmap is as follows:
1. Run IGP on the S9300s on the backbone network (OSPF process 1 is used here).
2. Create GRE tunnels between the S9300s connected with PCs so that data between any two
PCs is transmitted through GRE tunnels.
3. Run the dynamic routing protocol on the network segment where the PCs access the
backbone network (OSPF process 2 is used here).
Data Preparation
To complete the configuration, you need the following data:
l IDs of the VLANs that the interfaces belong to, as shown in Figure 2-6
l IP address of the VLANIF interfaces , as shown in Figure 2-6
l Source addresses and destination addresses on the two ends of the GRE tunnel
l IP addresses of the interfaces on the two ends of the GRE tunnel
Procedure
Step 1 Assign the IP address to each interface.

The configurations of S9300-B and S9300-C are similar to the configuration of S9300-A, and
are not mentioned here.
Step 2 Configure IGP on the VPN backbone network.
The configuration procedure is the same as that in Example for Configuring Static Routes on
the GRE Tunnel.
Step 3 Configure the tunnel interface.
The configuration procedure is the same as that in Example for Configuring Static Routes on
the GRE Tunnel.
Step 4 Configure the OSPF protocol on the tunnel interfaces.
