SV-GPS-250/2020 GPS Receiver Installation and Configuration
8-14 SkyView System Installation Guide - Revision AA
When the SV-GPS-250/2020 is powered up for the first time, or is powered up
after several weeks or months of not being used, the SV-GPS-250/2020 may
require several minutes to acquire GPS signals.
The number of satellites in “view” of the SV-GPS-250/2020 will vary depending on the time of
day, location, etc. Generally, a minimum of six (6) satellites should be shown.
On the GPS FIX STATUS screen, verify the values shown in Table 71 below.

Table 72 GPS FIX STATUS Satellite Color Explanation
Note that GPS FIX STATUS only displays information for the GPS that is set to POS
1. If you have a second GPS installed, temporarily set that unit to POS 1 and
temporarily set the primary GPS to POS 2.
If, after waiting several minutes, any of the Minimum Values shown in Table 71
Verification of SV-GPS-250/2020 Adequate Satellite Reception are not shown
(such as illustrated in Figure 97 above) it may be necessary to install the SV-GPS-
250/2020 in a different location on the aircraft.
