When the SV-GPS-250/2020 is powered up for the first time, or is powered up
after several weeks or months of not being used, the SV-GPS-250/2020 may
require several minutes to acquire GPS signals.
The number of satellites in “view” of the SV-GPS-250/2020 will vary depending on the time of
day, location, etc. Generally, a minimum of six (6) satellites should be shown.
On the GPS FIX STATUS screen, verify the values shown in Table 71 below.

Received signal strength is above the desired threshold, this satellite is used in
the position solution.
Received signal strength is below the desired threshold, this satellite is used in
the position solution.
This satellite is in view, but is not used in the position solution.

Note that GPS FIX STATUS only displays information for the GPS that is set to POS
1. If you have a second GPS installed, temporarily set that unit to POS 1 and
temporarily set the primary GPS to POS 2.
If, after waiting several minutes, any of the Minimum Values shown in Table 71 –
Verification of SV-GPS-250/2020 Adequate Satellite Reception are not shown
(such as illustrated in Figure 97 above) it may be necessary to install the SV-GPS-
250/2020 in a different location on the aircraft.
