The following general prerequisites must be fulfilled:

The instrument and the controller have to be connected with the suitable cable and
switched on.
See Chapter 13.7, "Connecting the instrument to the network (LAN)", on page 414.
●
To operate the instrument via remote control, it must be addressed using the
defined interface address.
