12.3.15.2 Mounting the shrink disk
WARNING
Risk of injury due to freely rotating parts
Fit a cover cap or protection cover.
NOTICE
Lubricants in the shrink disk seat impair torque transmission
Keep the bore in the hollow shaft and the machine shaft completely grease-free.
Do not use impure solvents and soiled cleaning cloths.
NOTICE
Plastic deformation of the hollow shaft caused by tightening the clamping bolts
Plastic deformation of the hollow shaft when tightening the clamping bolts before tting the
machine shaft.
First t machine shaft. Then tighten the clamping bolts.
NOTICE
Avoid overloading the individual bolts
Do not exceed the maximum tightening torque for the clamping bolt.
Sizes19‑69:
tighten clamping bolts⑥
Sizes79‑109:
It is important that the face surfaces of the outer ring ④ and the inner ring ⑤ are ush with
one another. If they are not ush with one another when tting, check the tolerance of the plug-
in shaft.
Note
The shrink disk, item③, is delivered ready for installation.
Do not dismantle it before the initial tting.
Note
The machine shaft material must comply with the following criteria in order to safely and reliably
transfer the forces and torques:
• Yield pointRe≥360N/mm
2
• Modulus of elasticity:approx.206kN/mm
2
• No face end thread in the machine shaft because it would reduce the transferred torque
