Software changes in SkyView Software v13.0:
o New: New enroute charts infrastructure and format to support additional
enroute (ICAO/Sectional/etc.) chart providers. Providers expected to
distribute enroute charts support include PocketFMS, OzRunways, and
AvPlan. Note: If you are a current Seattle Avionics ChartData subscriber, you
MUST update your USB sticks with new format ChartData using the latest
version of the data manager. To do this, make sure that the "Use data
formatted for SkyView Software v13 or later" checkbox is checked, and then
press UPDATE NOW.
o New: SkyView now available in foreign languages. Languages available at
release include French and German.
o New: Color-coded terrain alerting on synthetic vision. Terrain is dynamically
shaded in yellow or red to warn you when your projected flight path may
intersect terrain in the short future. Terrain shaded yellow is that which you
will be in close proximity to but does not represent an immediate threat.
Terrain shown in red represents terrain that may represent an immediate
collision hazard based on your current flight path. When operating within
the vicinity of an airport, terrain alerting is made less sensitive to reduce
visual noise near while operating in the airport/approach environment. This
feature is turned on and off in PFD>MODE>TERR ALRT.
o New: Ability to display the Rotax 912 iS' throttle position from its ECU via a
new EMS widget.
o New: Cold start assistance for Rotax 912 iS' engine. Status is displayed via
color-coding on the new throttle position EMS widget. Color-coding
matches the 2D graph as documented in the Rotax 912 iS manual.
o New: Ability to display the Rotax 912 iS' Power/ECO mode state from its
ECU via a new EMS widget.
o New: Support for the Advanced Control Module (ACM) that is provided with
Advanced Flight Systems Quick Panels.
o New: Support for ADS-B compliant GPS connection from Avidyne
IFD540/IFD440 navigators when connected directly to SV-XPNDR-261
transponder.
o New: Support for ADS-B compliant GPS connection from Trig TN70 when
connected directly to SV-XPNDR-261 transponder.
o New: SkyView can now self-detect and alert on unexpected events that
occur. Upon seeing a SYSTEM EVENT alert, user can enter the Setup Menu
for more information. This can help alert the customer of an impending or
emerging hardware or software issue.
o Improved: Mic gain thresholds and defaults adjusted to improve
transmission performance.
o Improved: New enroute charts format improves resolution, clarity, and
legibility of existing Seattle Avionics charts on SkyView.
o Improved: Time setting verbiage updated to be less confusing to users.
o Improved: Improved alerting for SV-XPNDR-26X when the transponder self-
reports error conditions/performance issues.
o Improved: PocketFMS ATZ airspaces now shown as Alert airspaces in
SkyView.
o Improved: Expired databases are now highlighted for better annunciation in
the Setup menu based INSTALLED DATABASE page.
o Improved: Synchronization of Hobbs and Tach time improved between
displays to more accurately preserve time when displays are turned off
individually.
o Improved: Press and hold of joystick knob when Minimums bug is selected
clears the value instead of syncing it.
o Improved: When flying under autopilot, a single press of the autopilot
disconnect switch no longer clears the programmed modes. Instead, it only
disconnects the servos. Double clicking the disconnect switch will clear all
modes. Additionally, pressing the disengage switch for 2 seconds when the
