Software changes in SkyView Software v14.0.0.3486, released 2016-01-13. New:
o Support for SV-GPS-2020 GPS Antenna/Receiver Module. When paired with
the SV-XPNDR-261 (with updated Software) and a SkyView system (with
updated Software), SkyView customers meet the FAA’s 2020 ADS-B Out
requirements.
o Checklist support. Checklists can be imported and exported, and edited on
any computer using a plaintext editor. Checklists are accessed under TOOLS
> CHECKLIST. An editable checklist template can be found on the Dynon
Software Downloads Page.
o Glide ring which approximately depicts the areas to which the aircraft could
be flown to in a glide configuration. Glide ring adjusts for current wind
conditions.
o Go around mode. When on an approach in VNAV mode, pressing any of the
Nose up button on the SV-AP-PANEL, the AUTOPILOT > PITCH > GO
AROUND button on-screen, or an external button (display discrete input #2)
will activate go-around mode. Go-around mode changes the AP lateral
mode to TRK mode with the approach inbound course as the target. Pitch
mode is switched to either IAS or VS mode (setup-dependent) with the
default climb VS or IAS selected. An “ADD POWER” annunciation is also
provided on the PFD page.
o Rotax 912iS alerts based on ECU status information. ROTAX: LIMIT FLIGHT
OP is displayed when one of the two “EMS lamps” are flashing. ROTAX:
LAND AIRCRAFT is displayed any time both lamps are simultaneously
flashing or on (any combination thereof), or any time one of the two lamps
is on. This is identical to Rotax’s published guidance to engine operators.
Note that installers can still connect ECU discrete outputs for each lamp to
SkyView contact inputs to display the actual lamps on a SkyView EMS page.
o Support for SIL/SDA=1 operations for SV-GPS-250. This allows SkyView
systems that transmit ADS-B Out via the SV-XPNDR-26X to continue to
receive TIS-B (ADS-B) traffic via the SV-ADSB-470 after early 2016.
o LOCAL DISPLAY SETUP > GPS FIX STATUS page that provides satellite
constellation information, signal strength, and GPS fix quality information.
This information can help determine whether a proposed GPS installation
location has an adequate view of the sky.
o Transponder Software update to 2.8. This version contains support for SIL=3
operation with SV-GPS-2020 devices and SIL=1 operation when used with
SV-GPS-250 devices. This version also fixes a bug that caused some position
sources to incorrectly transmit a NACv of 0. Note that the transponder
Software update must be manually initiated from the TRANSPONDER SETUP
menu and does not happen automatically during a SkyView software
update.
