incomplete host names (that is, host names passed from a client that are not
formatted with dotted notation). Use the no form to remove a name from this list.
Syntax
[no] ip domain-list <name>
name - Name of the host. Do not include the initial dot that separates the
host name from the domain name. (Range: 1-64 characters)
Default Setting
None
Command Mode
Global Configuration
Command Usage
• Domain names are added to the end of the list one at a time.
• When an incomplete host name is received by the DNS service on the
ECN330-switch, it will work through the domain list, appending each
domain name in the list to the host name, and checking with the
specified name servers for a match.
• If there is no domain list, the domain name specified with the ip
domain-name
command is used. If there is a domain list, the default
domain name is not used.
